A picture of me wouldn’t say a thousand words about me but I aspire that thousands of pictures by me speak one word about my photography… OPTIMUM – in essence, creativity, and craft
With this objective I follow all things of uninhibited spirit. I see sheer beauty, grace, and freedom in the flight of a bird. It was this picture of something within me unleashed in wide open that I wanted to capture when I started with photography. Initially I only wanted to do wild life photography, but the camera taught me to see exquisiteness even in the most mundane things. My perception of things has been transformed. Now a watch is much more than just a thing that can tell time. Each object has multiple personalities and some of these can only be exposed to a camera.
I do photography to find marvels in the inconspicuous, to create motion in the unchanged, and to feel emotion and passion in the alive. But above all I do photography just to hear the sound of shutter, the click that instantly rewards patience and hard work.
Photography is exploration. And, I would rather be riding my motorcycle and thinking about God then sitting in a temple and thinking about my motorcycle. The wheels enable the inward journey, through the outdoors.
Camera has been a steady companion through my incessant travels…
- numerous trans-Himalayan trips most of which have been solo rides
- a marathon ride of 1800kms in 90hrs along the southern coast of India, missing the tsunami by a few hours
- rode through heavy snowfall to Marsimik La, the world’s highest motorable pass at 18634 feet
- solo trip across Israel with nothing more than a Hebrew map for a guide
- a cross-continental ride in US
One lakh kilometres of travel so far and still going strong.
Why? Because it is all about pushing the limits and going beyond, I believe…
Where there is a wheel there is a way
